頓甘納位址在巴里島的東部,在Karang asem .頓甘納是峇里島少數原住民村之一，這「原住民」倒不是土生土長的部族，而是15世紀當回教勢力入侵爪哇，導致Majapahit王朝瓦解之際，紛紛避居到峇里的移民。
偏居東部一隅的頓甘納，一圈的磚牆就砌出全村的範圍，兩排屋宅沿著緩坡伸展，居民多從事傳統藝品製作，不明究理的遊客就把這兒錯當成了手工藝村，殊不知這是個全然拒絕外來文化的村落，表面上它廣開大門，骨子裡它暗藏著許多出人意表的規矩。
頓甘納的封閉姑且不論對錯是非，至少成功維繫了村鄰倫理，並保留了許多傳統文化，遊客最感興趣的便是棕櫚畫及雙面伊卡織布(Geringsing)。
棕櫚畫這項古老的技藝是以尖刀細刺出圖案，而後以火山豆塗抹上色，讓圖案滲進深棕色彩，相當耐看。雙面伊卡布織則以自然植物先行染色，而後以經緯線細工織出繁複的圖案，費時2、3年是常事，因此價格動輒高達數十至上百Rp.，而這些傳統技藝，就因著頓甘納執著守舊得以代代相承，無失傳之虞。
Location of Tenganan Pegeringsingan is situated at Manggis district, Karang asem , approximately 65 km from Denpasar (the International Airport of Bali). It is near Candidasa and can be easily reached by public or private vehicles.
